Non-notified tree felling resource consent reactivated for Mt Richmond

Red Alert!

The non notifiable consent to fell 443 trees at Mount Richmond has been reactivated and Tupuna Maunga Authority has applied for acoustic assessment approval, which will allow them to bring a helicopter in to remove the trees as they are felled.

This is the final phase of the non notifiable resource consent to fell 75% of our tree canopy. The Deputy Commissioner is assessing the application for approval, an exercise that it likely to be little more than a rubber stamp. The trees are now in imminent danger, and we are on Red Alert at Mount Richmond.

See here for the application.

Here’s what happened at Mangere – please help us to stop this happening at Mt Richmond / Ōtāhuhu.
